Davofrío is an HVAC engineering company that started as a family business, with a Citroën C15 and a lot of drive.
It all started with a Citroën C15 and the determination of a father and son to do things right.
It didn't start at a university or in an office. Davofrío's DNA began on-site, on the job. Adrian, at 17, installing units on weekends. His father, Juan, helping him because he didn't have a car to get to the installation sites. A Citroën C15 and two people with a strong drive to do things right.
That was back in 2003. Today, Davofrío has three locations, an engineering department, its own dedicated teams managing every phase of each project, and the official seal as the Authorized Technical Service for the industry's leading brands.
But the standard we work by today remains exactly the same as when Adrián used to buy thermodynamics books with his own money and head to the workshop on weekends to tear down machines just to understand why they failed.
Davofrío started with Juan and Adrián installing split systems on weekends; today, our team is made up of more than 50 employees and collaborators.
"I used to buy thermodynamics books with my own money and head to the workshop on weekends to tear down machines just to understand why they failed—that's how all of this started."
Adrián Davó
Adrián Davó. Technical Director. Obsessive self-learner.
At 16, Adrián completed a gas installation course, which led him to industrial plumbing, where a Würth sales representative noticed his potential and got him a foot in the door at an industrial refrigeration company.
Those were his first contacts with gases and HVAC systems.
That's when Joaquín entered the picture.
Joaquín didn't have a highly technical profile, but he was incredibly demanding, organized, and meticulous, and that left a lasting impression on him. Adrián started buying books and would head to the workshop with him on weekends to get things done. By the time he was 17, he was already installing units on his own.
For Adrián, installing a machine was no longer a mystery. Over time, he and his father struck out on their own, until one day a manufacturer approached them to become their Authorized Technical Service. Then came another. And another. Without even realizing it, Davofrío grew increasingly technical, specialized, and demanding.
Whenever Adrián attended manufacturer training sessions, he would request the manuals beforehand, and in time, he ended up training the technical service network himself.
Davofrío's DNA: always being in constant motion.
If you were to drop by the offices on any given day, you'd see it's like a small anthill. We are all always in constant motion.
Customer service attempting to handle incoming technical support calls. Administration speaking with clients to resolve any questions. The engineering department designing systems that many consider the future, but which are already a daily reality at Davofrío.
Adrián coordinating everything. And quite likely Juan, learning how to apply AI within our processes to boost productivity and provide better service to our clients, among other things.
Movement and continuous improvement are in Davofrío's DNA and in every single one of the more than 40 members of the team. And that truly shows in how we work.
How we work at Davofrío
Calculation first, equipment second
Before naming a specific brand or model, we calculate the actual thermal loads: orientation, thermal mass, occupancy, emission systems, and internal heat sources.
The equipment is chosen only after the calculation is complete. That is what ensures the blueprint's performance matches the performance on the utility bill.
Everything in-house, no outsourcing.
Engineering, installation, commissioning, control and integration, after-sales service. Everything handled by our own in-house team.
The engineer who calculates the project and the technician who installs it work side by side. There is no one else to pass the buck to when something needs adjusting later.
Official Technical Service for leading brands.
Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Hitachi, Bosch, Airzone. Direct manufacturer training, genuine spare parts, and access to level 3 diagnostics.
When there is a problem with equipment from these brands in Alicante, Valencia, or Murcia, Davofrío is the official response.
Three proprietary branches across the Mediterranean Arc.
Alicante, Valencia, and Murcia. Local technical teams who know the projects in their area.
When a climate control system needs servicing, the technician who arrives already knows exactly what they are dealing with.
Where we believe the climate control sector is heading and how we are preparing at Davofrío to be your partner for the next 20 years
R32 is set to disappear. Projects using R410 have an expiration date; starting in 2029, the entry of these products will be restricted.
The 2050 plan sets a clear roadmap toward low global warming potential refrigerants. The future of aerothermal energy lies with R290.
But Davofrío's bet has already been made: refrigerant in the outdoor production unit, energy transferred to water, and water working on the inside. Safe, efficient, and aligned with upcoming regulations. Not as a passing trend, but because it is the correct technical solution for the next twenty years.
And in the installer market, independent contractors without the structure to comply with regulations will find it increasingly difficult to survive. Manufacturers are moving directly toward the end customer. The demand for qualified field technicians is rising while the supply is falling. Anyone without the scale and expertise to adapt will be left behind.
However, Davofrío has spent years building exactly that scale and participating in projects focused on professionalization and talent development.
If you have a project or an installation that is not performing as it should.
The first step in launching any HVAC project is always the same: a direct technical consultation. No blind estimates. A senior engineer from Davofrío evaluates your project, asks the essential questions, and clearly outlines the next steps to follow.
