From installing splits at weekends to running an HVAC engineering firm

Adrián Davó started very young. At 16 he took a gas installation course, moved on to industrial plumbing and, thanks to a sales rep who saw his potential, joined an industrial refrigeration company. That was his first contact with refrigerant gases and air-conditioning systems.

There he met Joaquín, an extremely demanding, organised and meticulous professional, and it left its mark. Adrián started buying thermodynamics books and spent his weekends with him at the workshop. At 17 he was already installing units on his own.

“I bought thermodynamics books with my own money and spent my weekends at the workshop taking units apart to understand why they failed. That's how all this started.”

In 2003 he set up on his own with his father, Juan, installing splits from a Citroën C15 van. One day a manufacturer asked them to become its official service partner. Then came another, and another. Davofrío became ever more technical and specialised. At manufacturer training sessions, Adrián asked for the manuals before arriving, and over time he ended up training the service network himself.

How Davofrío works today

Today Davofrío is an HVAC engineering firm with its own engineering department and in-house teams at every stage of each project, and official service for Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Hitachi, Bosch and Airzone. The approach is the same as on those weekends: calculations first, then the equipment, all with our own staff and no subcontracting. Adrián coordinates the team day to day.
