Air conditioning in Dénia: installation, repair and maintenance from Jávea

Reparación de Aire Acondicionado: Servicio Técnico Profesional y Rápido

If you are looking for air conditioning in Dénia, we look after you from our Jávea branch, just a few kilometres away: installation, repair and maintenance of air conditioning, heat pumps and air-source heat pumps in flats, villas and businesses in Dénia and the surrounding area. We are an official service centre for the leading brands and work with our own technicians.

We have been working in air conditioning for more than 20 years. We know the apartments in Les Marines, the houses in Les Rotes, the flats in the town centre and the villas on the Montgó, and we know that each one needs a different solution.

Air conditioning installation, repair and maintenance in Dénia

We cover the whole life of the unit, from choosing it to repairing it, with the same technicians: whoever installs your unit knows how it was fitted when it is time to service it.

  • Installation of split units, ducted air conditioning and zoned systems, with a prior survey of your home.
  • Repairs of faults using original spare parts.
  • Maintenance once a year, plus a tune-up before summer or winter.
  • Air-source heat pumps and underfloor heating for villas and new builds.
  • Air conditioning for businesses: restaurants, shops and holiday apartments.

If the installation requires making an opening, running pipes through a partition wall or fitting a plasterboard false ceiling, our own team does it, with no subcontracting. You have a single point of responsibility for the whole job.

Which air conditioning suits each area of Dénia

In Dénia, an apartment with a terrace facing the beach is not the same as an old flat by the port or a villa with a garden on the slopes of the Montgó. The type of home, whether there is a false ceiling and how close the sea is determine which system makes sense. This is the guidance we give on the first visit:

Home Usual solution
Apartment in Les Marines or Les Rotes Inverter split or multi-split unit, with anti-corrosion protection if it is on the seafront.
Flat in the town centre or in Baix la Mar Ducted air conditioning if there is a false ceiling or a renovation is planned; otherwise, split units.
Villa on the Montgó or in La Xara Zoned ducted air conditioning or an air-source heat pump with underfloor heating.
Commercial premises or restaurant Cassette or ducted units with ventilation, sized for the occupancy.

The table is a starting point. Before recommending anything, the technician measures the rooms, checks which way each room faces and where the outdoor unit can go without disturbing the neighbours or sitting in full afternoon sun.

If you live in a block: residents’ association and façade

In apartment blocks in Dénia, the outdoor unit usually goes on the terrace, in a light well or on the roof. Mounting it on the street-facing façade affects a common element, so it is best to check the bylaws and discuss it with the residents’ association first, as provided for in the Spanish Horizontal Property Act. You also need to think about where the condensation water goes: a poorly planned drain ends up dripping onto the balcony below and is one of the most common complaints between neighbours.

Air conditioning installation prices in Dénia

The price depends on the system, how many rooms you want to air-condition and the building work needed. Within each range, what affects the price most is the unit’s output, the distance between the indoor and outdoor units and whether building work is needed. These are the reference prices we publish for installed units:

System Reference price, installed
Split unit (one room) €800–€2,200
Multi-split €2,400–€4,800
Ducted air conditioning or air-source heat pump €6,000–€12,000

We give you the final price in a fixed written quote after the technical visit. It includes the unit, materials, labour, commissioning and a 3-year guarantee, so no extras appear once the unit is already up. On the seafront, if we recommend a unit with anti-corrosion treatment, it is stated in that same quote.

Salt air in Les Marines and Les Rotes: how to protect the outdoor unit

In the beach areas of Dénia, the outdoor unit corrodes much faster. Salt-laden air settles on the aluminium fins of the heat exchanger and on the casing, and with the summer humidity it forms a crust that first reduces performance and then pits the metal. In the houses of Les Rotes, with the sea breaking on the rocks a few metres away, it shows even sooner.

On the seafront, what most extends the life of the unit is combining equipment designed for the coast with a yearly clean. This is our approach:

  1. Choose a unit with anti-corrosion treatment on the outdoor heat exchanger when the home is close to the sea.
  2. Find a sheltered spot for the outdoor unit, out of the full force of the easterly wind off the sea if there is another option.
  3. Clean once a year the outdoor unit to remove built-up salt, ideally before summer.
  4. Check screws, brackets and electrical connections, which are the first things to rust.

The most common mistake is to do nothing until the unit stops cooling. By then the fins can be so damaged that a clean will no longer restore them. Another classic is covering the unit with a tarpaulin all winter: it traps moisture and salt, and corrosion advances faster.

Repairs by an official service centre in Dénia

We are an official service centre for brands such as Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Bosch, Midea and LG. That means manufacturer-trained technicians, original spare parts and repairs that keep your guarantee valid. You can see all the brands on official service centre.

When you call us about a fault, the technician starts with what can be seen and heard and then takes measurements. These are the faults we find most often in the area:

  • The unit switches on but does not cool: it is usually low refrigerant due to a leak or a heat exchanger clogged with salt. The pressures are checked with a gauge before recharging anything.
  • Water drips from the indoor unit: a blocked drain or a dirty condensate tray, very common in apartments that have been closed up for months.
  • An error code appears on the remote control: the code points the way, but the sensors, circuit board and connections need checking to find the real cause.
  • Noise or vibration in the outdoor unit: rusty brackets, the fan catching or the compressor working under strain.

Refrigerant gas may only be handled by certified staff under the fluorinated gas regulations. Topping up gas without finding the leak is a short-term fix: within a few weeks it fails again.

Air conditioning service before summer in Dénia

Dénia’s population multiplies in summer and technicians across the area are overwhelmed in July. Servicing the unit in spring means you will not be left without air conditioning in the middle of a heatwave, with a full house. If you have a holiday apartment, a breakdown in August means complaining guests and reviews that cost bookings.

In a tune-up we check what fails most often after the winter:

  • Cleaning the filters and the indoor unit, which in closed-up houses collects dust and a damp smell.
  • Cleaning the outdoor unit and checking for corrosion.
  • Checking pressures and the outlet air temperature.
  • Testing the drain so it does not drip onto the terrace.
  • Checking remote controls, sensors and electrical connections.

During the tune-up the unit is measured while running: that way a small leak is detected before the real heat arrives.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge a call-out fee to Dénia?

Dénia is within the service area of our Jávea branch. We state any cost in the quote before the visit, with no surprises at the end.

Do you work with holiday apartments?

Yes. We offer maintenance between seasons and fault call-outs so the property does not lose bookings. Ideally, the units should be serviced before the high season starts, while there is still time to replace a part.

Do you also install heat pumps for heating?

Yes. Today’s units provide both cooling and heating, and for villas we usually propose an air-source heat pump, which also produces hot water. In flats, an inverter split or multi-split unit is usually enough for the mild winter on the coast.

Do I need permission from the residents’ association to install the outdoor unit?

If it goes on the façade or in a common area, it is best to discuss it with the residents’ association and check the bylaws before installing. If it goes on your terrace without affecting the façade, it is usually simpler. During the visit we suggest the location that will cause the fewest problems.

Do you cover the Montgó residential estates and La Xara?

Yes. We serve the whole municipality of Dénia, from Les Marines to Les Rotes, the Montgó and La Xara, as well as Jávea and the rest of the Marina Alta.
