Preventive Air Conditioning Maintenance

You have Netflix. You have Spotify. Maybe a gym membership. Monthly fees you pay every month even if you don't use them. Well, preventive maintenance works similarly, with one difference: you pay for it every month, but you benefit from it every single day.

What happens if I don't service my air conditioner when it's due?

If you live on the Mediterranean coast, you know that the climate is serious business. Especially for machinery.

A split unit running daily in the Levante climate works under harsh conditions. Extreme heat in summer, humidity, Saharan dust coming to visit us, and, in many cases, coastal environments with high concentrations of salt in the air.

A unit that does not undergo maintenance when due accumulates dirt in the filter, the heat exchanger, and the evaporator coil.

The downside is that this dirt isn't visible from the outside, but it is noticeable on your bill.

A dirty heat exchanger forces the compressor to work harder to achieve the same thermal result. More work from the compressor means higher electricity consumption, more wear on parts, and a higher probability of something failing. And it will almost certainly fail when it's working the hardest and you need it the most.

Compressor repair can cost between 50% and 80% of the price of a new unit. This is avoidable with preventive maintenance.

"A unit without maintenance can consume up to 25% more electricity than the same unit if it receives proper preventive maintenance from the brand's technical service."

Anyone can clean a grille. What Davofrío does during preventive maintenance of your systems, they can't.

There is one part of the maintenance that you can do yourself: clean the intake grille every two or three weeks during the operating season. It’s easy, it’s in the manual, and it makes a difference in your day-to-day use.

What’s not so simple is what lies behind that filter. The evaporator, the condenser, the refrigerant circuit, the condensate drain, electrical contacts, and gas pressure readings. These parts require specific cleaning products that won't damage the coil, calibrated measuring tools, and the technical expertise to interpret what the data says about the actual condition of the unit.

A poorly executed maintenance can double the problem. We have seen coils deformed by aggressive cleaning products used without proper judgment. Refrigerant leaks caused by improper handling of the circuit. Condensate flowing back into the unit because the drain was only partially cleaned. For equipment worth between 800 and 3,000 euros, those mistakes are costly.

What a Davofrío technician does when checking your unit.

Cleaning the evaporator and condenser

Deep cleaning with specific coil products that dissolve accumulated dirt without damaging the heat exchanger fins.

It is the part that has the greatest impact on your machine's performance.

Un evaporador limpio transfiere calor de forma eficiente. Uno sucio, no.

Inspection and cleaning of the drainage system

The condensed steam generated by the equipment during cooling must be evacuated through the drain.

If the drain pipe is clogged, water accumulates in the tray and can enter the equipment or leak down the wall.

It is cleaned, the flow is checked, and it is verified that there are no leaks.

Checking refrigerant pressure values.

The operating pressures of the refrigerant circuit say a lot about the condition of the equipment.

A pressure out of range may indicate an incipient leak or a compressor problem before it manifests as a breakdown.

Detecting it at this point costs little. Ignoring it until it fails costs a lot.

Electrical inspection of the components

Loose connections, oxidized contacts, or electrical consumption outside the nominal range are signs of wear that, without inspection, evolve into breakdowns.

They are measured, documented, and corrected, or the client is warned if they require corrective maintenance to proceed with a quote.

Checking the operating modes

Cooling, heating, ventilation, dehumidification.

The technician verifies that the equipment responds correctly in each mode, that the discharge temperature is correct, and that the control functions without errors.

It’s not just about checking if it "blows air." Anyone can do that.

Equipment status report.

At the end of the visit, the client receives a report with the actual status of their installation.

What has been done, what has been found, and what recommendations there are for the coming months. Without unnecessary technical jargon.

With the necessary information to know the status of your equipment.

Flat rate yes. Fixed price no.

An air conditioner in a coastal home that runs four months a year does not need the same as a machine in an industrial kitchen that works twelve hours a day. Charging both the same annual maintenance fee makes no technical or economic sense.

At Davofrío, before proposing a maintenance schedule, we evaluate the equipment: how many hours it runs, in what environment, what type of usage it has, and how many years it has been installed.

With that data, we tell you whether it needs one or two visits per year, and what each one includes.

The result is a maintenance plan that doesn't overcharge you nor leave you unprotected. You pay for what your equipment actually needs to perform well and last. Nothing more, nothing less.

And unlike Netflix, which you sometimes go weeks without opening, you’ll notice this plan every single day.

In the equipment that starts up without issues on the first hot day, in the electricity bill that doesn’t rise without explanation, and in the peace of mind knowing that someone knows your installation and has it under control.

Each preventive maintenance visit is a complete technical inspection of the system, not a superficial review.

Preventive maintenance by the official technical service of the leading air conditioning brands.

At Davofrío, we are the Official Technical Service (SAT) for the leading brands in the air conditioning sector.

Those brands periodically train our technicians and engineers so that they guarantee the maintenance systems and perform them according to their criteria. By doing it this way, your machine never loses its factory warranty and remains ready to work at full performance for your comfort. Without any surprises.

If you have a business, the cost of not maintaining your equipment can end up being very expensive.

In a home, an air conditioner that stops working in August is a serious problem. But in a restaurant, an office, a shop, or a hotel, it is a problem that has a direct effect on the bottom line.

Customers leaving Google reviews showing their anger, employees who are not performing, and production lines brought to a standstill.

Commercial and industrial equipment work more hours, in more demanding environments, and with exposure to dust, grease, or humidity that residential units do not face. They require more frequent and more specific maintenance. And when they break down, they cannot wait three days for a technician to arrive.

For businesses with multiple units, we design a maintenance plan that covers the entire installation with scheduled visits, priority response for incidents, and a dedicated technician who knows the equipment at that location. No bureaucracy, no intermediaries.

No one wants to see a negative review on Google because the air conditioning didn't work that day.

When you contact us, we will ask you what equipment you have, how many years it has been installed, and how you use it.

With that information, a Davofrío technician will decide if you need an initial visit to audit your installation and determine which maintenance makes sense for your case. Only then will we propose a plan with a specific schedule and cost.

No generic packages. No useless visits. With a plan designed so that your equipment performs as it should and lasts as long as it must.

Or leave us your details and we will call you.
