Signs your air conditioning system is broken and needs a service
The most common cause is a dirty heat exchanger or a gradual loss of refrigerant charge. Both situations force the compressor to work harder to achieve less, which spikes energy consumption and accelerates wear and tear. This is easily detected and resolved during a routine service.
